Directions on how to break up and peel an entire head of garlic into cloves in seconds-
I do this all the time. So simple and a thousand times fresher than store prepared garlic!!
Choose a whole unpeeled head of garlic – ideally, one with no shoots and heavy for its size.
Grab two medium to large-sized bowls. I prefer stainless steel prep bowls because they have a lip to grasp onto for shaking. Take the first prep bowl and put a whole unpeeled head of garlic in the bowl. Cover that bowl with with another same-sized prep bowl. I find one head of garlic at a time in the bowls works best.
Now the fun part!
Firmly grasp the bowls together and shake vigorously for about 60 seconds. Kids love to help do this part. Have your kids shake, shake, shake their booty. You will hear the sound change when the cloves are separated and peeled. Open the bowls and presto chango, the whole head of garlic is separated into cloves with every clove completely peeled. You are now a kitchen magician.

Here’s my favorite thing to do with all that delicious garlic, I make sheet pan roasted chicken with garlic and veggies. This is very similar in flavor to a popular urban legend recipe called, “Engagement Chicken,” make the chicken and get an engagement out of it.
